European project to support cybersecurity SMEs’ competitiveness and inter-regional cooperation
State Information System Authority (RIA) is hosting the international partners of the Interreg Europe project “CYBER” in Tallinn on December 12-13, involving the members of the Estonian Information Security Association in their activates.
Three members of the Estonian Information Security Association (EISA) – Cybernetica, BHC Laboratory (CybExer) and Guardtime will participate in the Interreg Europe project “CYBER” meeting in Tallinn. During the first day of the meeting, the project group is given the opportunity to get to know better the Estonian cybersecurity ecosystem by visiting different organisations and understanding the level of maturity of cybersecurity in Estonia. The three EISA members will join the project meeting at the e-Estonia Showroom for presentations and demos of their products and services.
The Interreg Europe project “CYBER” overall objective is to boost competitiveness of cybersecurity SMEs, thanks to improved public policies – in Estonia especially the next generation cybersecurity strategy 2019-2022. The project involves public authorities, such as State Information System Authority (RIA) across Europe (Belgium, France, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain) that can help knock down barriers of market fragmentation, lack of coordination of regional actors and lack of skills. The project intends to improve the cybersecurity innovation ecosystem in all partner regions. The first project meeting took place in July 2018 in Rennes, France.
As the State Information System Authority is a close partner, it intends to involve the Association’s member SMEs during the course of the project also in the future. During the five years of the project, Estonian Information Security Association can help tackle the issues that will be identified inter-regionally and can participate at the project meetings across Europe to build relationships with other countries.
